Resume Audit

Resume Audit: A Line-by-Line Review of Your Actual Resume

A Resume Audit is a full review of your actual resume, checked against a specific job description you're applying to. It scores your resume quality and ATS keyword match separately, flags the three highest-impact issues in priority order, and returns a full report by email, typically within minutes of payment. It's the deeper option behind InterviewScore's free 60-second check, for when you already know which job you want and need a document-specific answer rather than a general diagnosis.

Who this is for

The free check is the right starting point if you're not sure yet what's wrong, it asks about your job search in general and points at likely causes. The Resume Audit is the right next step once you have a specific role in mind and want the answer built from your actual document rather than your answers about it. If you've already run the free check and want to see the same issues confirmed, or want a keyword comparison against one exact posting instead of a general pattern, that's the gap this closes.

What's checked

Every audit runs the same structured review against your resume and, where provided, the job posting:

The two scores are kept separate on purpose. A resume can read well to a person and still lose to the parser, or match every keyword in a posting and still read like a list of duties. Fixing one doesn't automatically fix the other, so the report treats them as two different problems with two different sets of fixes.

The ATS match score draws on the same parsing and keyword logic covered in the ATS resume check guide, applied to your real resume instead of quiz answers.

How it works

If you choose the Audit + Call tier, a scheduling link for your 15-minute strategy call arrives by email within 24 hours, along with three preparation questions so the call itself isn't spent re-explaining what the report already covers.

Written Audit vs. Audit + Call

Both tiers run the identical audit, the difference is entirely in what happens after the report arrives. Choose the Written Audit if you're comfortable acting on a written plan yourself. Choose Audit + Call if you'd rather talk through the priority fixes with someone before you start rewriting, particularly useful when the fix touches how to phrase a career change or an unusual work history that doesn't reduce neatly to a bullet point.

Written Resume Audit
$39
  • Full written report by email
  • Resume quality and ATS match scores
  • Top 3 issues with before/after fixes
  • Self-contained, no call required

Looking for a full rewrite instead of a diagnosis? That's a different product, handled by our partner ResumeCanada, starting at $150. The Audit tells you what's wrong and how to fix it yourself, a rewrite has someone else do the fixing. Most people only need the rewrite after an audit confirms the resume needs more than a few targeted changes.

What your report looks like

The report opens with a single priority action, the one change most likely to move your interview rate, stated in one sentence so it's obvious what to do first even if you read nothing else. That's followed by the top 3 issues in order, each with a plain-language explanation of the problem, a specific fix, and a before and after rewrite of one of your own bullets, not a generic example.

The ATS section follows, showing which keywords from the job posting your resume already covers and which are missing, so you can see the exact gap rather than guess at it. It closes with a short list of quick wins, five in total, small changes you can make in the next ten minutes without waiting on anything else.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the free check and the paid Resume Audit?

The free check diagnoses your job search from quiz answers, no resume required. The Resume Audit reviews your actual resume file against a specific job posting and returns a line-by-line report, which is more specific but takes a document from you rather than answers. Try the free check first if you're not sure which one you need.

How long does it take to get my report?

The report is generated and emailed automatically after payment, typically within minutes, not days.

Do I need to provide a job description?

It's optional but recommended. Without one, the audit reviews general resume quality. With one, it also scores your keyword match against that specific role.

What file formats are accepted?

TXT or DOCX. See the ATS resume check guide for why DOCX parses more reliably than PDF.
